so about a year ago I did a story about a guy who built in electric car! seriously, he spent about $2,000 on it, it uses a bunch of golf cart batteries, has a solar panel for the interior electric stuff, and can go 65 mph and about 30 miles before needing to recharge. Each recharge costs him $1!!!
so of course that’s inspiring! now, in full disclosure, my car is already a small one and gets about 27-30 mpg so I’m not complaining, but it’s the principle. Dependence off petroleum, etc.
I don’t think I’m much of a car builder, so I went online to look for one, and found the perfect car!
It’s the Tesla Roadster! The car can go 220 miles on one charge, and get go ridiculously fast. So Why not right?!
yeah sounded great…until the pricetag. $109,000 base price!!
hmm…I guess I would have to drive it 40 years before making my gas money back. sigh. maybe I’ll just ride a bike.
